Billy Elliot the Musical – A Spectacular and Inspiring Show

Billy Elliot the Musical is set during the turbulent economic times of England during a coal miners’ strike. The story is set amongst a small coal mining town on the brink of starvation after being on strike for nearly a year with no end in sight. The plot is centered on the conflict between Billy’s conservative, coal miner father and Billy Elliot who decides he wants to become a ballet dancer. This goes against everything a family of generations-long coal mining roots stands for.
Billy Elliot the Musical is an amazing experience, full of wonderful dance routines performed by one of three different youngsters who alternate the role every other day for excited audiences. It truly is a well-executed production in numerous ways but it’s main draw which has captivated the imagination of us all is how it sticks to the harsh reality of its accessible and endearing characters.
